froyo upgrade

Hi - I updated to Froyo today and had to reinstall my apps. Now, in settings, the (events) section is greyed out and I can't sync events.

Froyo is based on Android 2.2 and there is a new sdk out for it. I'm confused though because the contacts sync fine - just no way to do events now.

FYI.

EDIT: I have a feeling this has to do with the /sdcard being mounted differently now. Does the synthesis app use the /sdcard for cache or other purpose for events but not for contacts? The sdcard doesn't seem to be mounted quite the same on froyo.

Hi

the Synthesis client for Android is not yet released for Android 2.2.
The reason why the calendar is not visible is currently unknown.

The SDK is out, that's true.
But the emulator with which we've tested 2.2 has no calendar app.

Regards,
Beat

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean Android 2.2 has no calendar app. I'm using it on my Nexus One right now and it is sync'ed with my gmail.com calendar just fine.

I've said that the Android 2.2 EMULATOR has no calendar app, so it can't be tested without having a real device on 2.2. I don't speak of Android 2.2 in general.

The Synthesis Client for Android is not using the sdcard in any way for syncing. The only access will be done when selecting "keep logs", then the log file will be written to the sdcard's "download" folder.

Okay, thanks. I have the sdk 2.2 installed and my emulator does have a calendar app working. Any chance you can share the source code so I can package a new version for myself to use? (I use eclipse.)

I'll just have to wait until you upgrade the client for 2.2.

Again, thanks for such quick responses.

The std Android 2.2 package I've downloaded does not contain the calendar.apk. Where do you have it from ?

I got system, user and data images from a forum I belong to so I created an avd with them to test/develop with.

Can you provide us with a copy of your avd ?

Be happy to. Let me make sure, first, that I wouldn't be breaking any proprietary rules or providing you with a non-stock image that would not be of any help.

Update

okay, so apparently some of us N1 users are using a limited test build of 2.2. When the official 2.2 comes out, the sdk will be updated with the official 2.2 system.img.

If I give you my test image, it won't be the official one.

I think I'm going to flash back to 2.1 until the official one comes out.

Thanks again!
