Default Backup/Restore profile and connection settings?

Hi!

I'm using syncml client pro V3.0.0.0 on my Windows Mobile Pocket PC (Cingular 8125). I try out different ROMs on my phone and do hard-resets and then software reinstalls on a frequent basis. I would therefore like some means of backing up and then restoring the syncml profile and connection setting information.

Is there some way to do this?

Thanks!

Lightbulb Re: Backup/Restore profile and connection settings?

All the settings are contained in the sysyprof.bfi and systarg.bfi files found in the \Windows directory of your PocketPC or Smartphone.

Just save these two files, and copy them back after the hard reset.

Please do not save/restore the other .bfi files (xxx_clg.bfi etc.), as these contain IDs referring to the current state of your device - if you copy them in after a reset you'll probably mess up the sync.

The connection settings however are managed by the operating system - no idea how they are stored (probably somewhere in the registry )

Thanks! I'll stick those files into a .cab on my storage card and use it to restore them after my next ROM install.
