Default Calendar Sync: general question

If I have a Google Calendar on Android and would additionally use SyncML to sync a 2nd calendar (Oracle Beehive), will this merge both calendars into one or can I keep them as different calendars?

The current version of the Android SyncML client isn't able to create its own calendar accounts. So if you have not a tool to create new accounts, they will be usually merged together.

There will be an update of the Android SyncML client (coming in about 1-2 weeks) which allows to create own calendar accounts. Then you'll be able to keep them separately.

So does this mean, I could create an empty calendar in Google Calendar and sync this one with SyncML, so it will be separated by my other Google Calendars?

Yes, they will be kept completely separate.

Creation of the account will be done within the Synthesis Client app however, not within the calendar app, but I think that doesn't matter for the usage.
