Thanks for the information!

I have another question: Do you normally have calendar alarm reminders popping up during that period where SyncML stops autosyncing or do you remember an occasion when it also stopped when there were NO calendar alarms?
And are you using a third-party calendar program or a third-party notification manager?

We think the problem could be related to multiple alerts pending and clearing the request for starting the SyncML app from the queue in the process of dismissing them, that's why I am asking.

FWIW, I'm seeing the same problem (SymcML 3.0.2.18 seems to just stop running, and after that doesn't autosync till I launch it manually) on a Treo700w.

I notice that it seems to continue autosyncing ok as long as I don't use the device for any other programs. But if I launch another program, or sometimes even just leave the device idling on the "today" screen, then when I look at running tasks SyncML is no longer among them, and timed sync doesn't seem to happen.

When does the SyncML client emplace its system notification that causes the system to wake it up?

I did check to ensure that notification is being set successfully, using a tool that permits me to see pending system notifications. There seems to be one for Syncml. But I'll check again later to be sure it's still there. I've coded a few notification-using programs for this device, so may be able to dig into it a little if I can help solve this. The program is great otherwise!

Dragging up an old thread here but I have exactly the same problem. HTC Diamond 2. Even if I leave the client running in the foreground it does not automatically sync once the mobile has 'gone to sleep'. As soon as I wake it up SyncML will start.

I never had this problem on my previous device so is it a bug with the HTC?

Of course this really make SyncML worthless as I have already missed a number of appointments due to not having an up to date calendar.

I have the same problem. It's a little bit annoying.

System config:

* Palm Centro
* Keygard activated
* Security password + auto lock device after 10 min
* syncml client for goosync
* autosync every 60 min activated

Auto sync doesn't work when the device sleeps. After activating the device + entering the security password and starting the syncml client the sync process starts immediately.

Please fix this issue.

Note: Email auto sync with versamail works perfectly under the same conditions.

Best regards
